    ‘Kitchen Talks’ is a project by thee LIU participants, which is centered on the interaction that takes place around the table when sharing a meal. The project builds on the idea that the sharing of a meal with someone from a different culture can create a frame for positive interaction and dialogue between strangers. ‘Kitchen Talks’, therefore, brought together families from different cultures over a shared meal to create an increased mutual understanding and connection across cultures.

  • The Piano Initiative

    Did you ever here about 'The Piano Initiative'? Well, this is what brought together 37 people in Syria for a day of interreligious dialogue.
    Civil society activists, artists, teachers, and religiously committed people spent a day together visiting religious sights and discussing diversity.
    Wassem Al Shakleh, a Syrian LIU participant and facilitator of the project, explains “We wanted to show the diversity of our cultural heritage by visiting several monasteries and mosques”.
    He continues “In the Levant we strive for our diversity and multicultural communities - this is our richness and heritage. To us the piano symbolizes this.”

  • LIU and Countering Extremism 2015 Seminar and Graduation

  • LIU 2013 Danish Participants Video on Conflict Resolution

    This video is a pedagogical attempt to explain the difficulties of conflicts and the steps towards conflict resolution. The story is a conversation in a school yard between three boys – Ahmed, Benjamin and Christian – and a teacher, who helps the boys understand their conflicts and the conflicts between the three great religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
